Apple pie
This perfect summer pie with ideal and healthy whole wheat crust and creamy filling is simple to make and tastes divinely. Baked with raw cane sugar it has a gentle caramel flavor and is a bit more healthy than the white sugar desserts.

Raw sugar 100g
Whole wheat flour 130g
Apples 700-800g (4 medium sized apples)
Crème fraîche or smetana 200g
Butter 100g
1 egg
Salt 1/4 tea spoon
Vanilla extract or vanilla powder - 1/2 tea spoon

Preparation time: 1 hour 10 minutes
Baking time: 10 minutes for the crust + 35-40 minutes for the cake
How to make it

I usually use a standard 28 cm in diameter round baking form for this amount of ingredients.

Preheat the oven at 180°. To make the crust soften up the butter at room temperature for 10-15 minutes, then hand mix it with flour and salt until flaky texture. After add 1-2 table spoons of cold water, mix and form a ball. Put it in the freezer for 10-20 minutes and move on to the filling.

Peel and cut the apples in small slices, stir them with the half of the sugar.
Take the batter out of the freezer and spread it on to the baking form, pinch it with the fork and put it in the oven for 10-15 minutes.
Whisk another half of the sugar with crème fraîche and vanilla extract.

Bake for 35-40 minutes at 180° and let it cool down.
